Cochin or Kochi or Ernakulum, the “Gateway to Kerala,” a.k.a. the “Queen” of Arabian Sea is the largest city in Kerala. It is an enchanting place that you will never miss when you make into this small Indian state. Bolghatty Island

It is a tiny island with a palace built by Dutch in 18th century. It is now a hotel run by the government of Kerala. Earlier it was home to the Dutch and British governors of the province. Bolghatty Island is also known for its green lush and awesome backwaters. It has special honeymoon cottages as well as a small golf course.

Willingdon Island

It is another wonderful island in Cochin where you can enjoy the beauty of sea and nature. It is the largest man-made island in India, and amazingly, it was formed by the settling down of materials dredged during the deepening of Cochin Harbor. It is now one of the center points of Cochin with several offices and attraction points.

Marine Drive

Resting in the shores Arabian Sea, Cochin is the best place to enjoy sea and large merchant ships in Kerala. Along with being one of the main shopping areas of the city, Marine Drive is the place where you can hang about with a view of nearby islands as well as large merchant ships anchored in the sea.

Hill Palace Museum

It is yet another fabulous place to visit in the city. Located at Thripunithura, i.e. 10 km. away from the heart of city, Hill Palace Museum was the palace of Kochi Maharaja. It is now a museum where you can have a look at the antiques and royal remnants of the past Kerala.
